The Smart Ration Card Scheme has been initiated by the Punjab government, which has been rolled out recently. The main purpose of launching the card is to withdraw food grains from a fair price shop. Important points of Punjab Ration Card –
- Main aim of the scheme – The scheme’s main purpose is to offer food grains to the poor sections of the society in Punjab. Through this, they can get the necessities of their lives and eat properly
- Beneficiaries of the scheme – The poor and the needy families are the target group of the scheme
- Sending grains homes of needy – The food grains will be directly sent to the home of the needy families as per the guidelines of the scheme
- Grains at cheap rate – The grains will be given to the beneficiaries at a low rate under the scheme compared to other food items

How to apply online for the Punjab smart ration card –

- The candidates have to avail the card through the official portal of the scheme.
- Now, they have to click on the login page of the portal
- Here, new user should go through the new user link
- After suitable registration, the applicant need to update for the profile by giving suitable details
- Now, they should click on the ‘fresh application link’
- The candidate has to click on the service options available on the screen
- After filling up the form with correct details, it is important to furnish the required documents at the time of registration
- After this, you have to click on save application options and upload the documents
- Now, click on the ‘submit’ option following which the candidate will get an acknowledge number displayed on the screen
